A few weeks go by so fast when you’re hard at workNov 15th category: blog | tags: work mirrors edge flash data actionscript
The last few weeks have just flown by, mainly because I’ve been knee deep in both design and development for one of the projects I am involved in at my place of employment, and I must say it’s amazing how data driven sites really do come to life the more and more data is actually being put into the system.
I’ve never realized just how much relationships within data can make a difference until now, obviously I knew that it’d be great for linking bits and pieces to together, but id never used it on this context before to link literally hundreds of different criteria together. I’ve also been spending a little free time learning Action Script 3, as I’ve previously only used 2 before and it seems AS3 has many advantages. If anyone has any insights or anything that’d be awesome, I might post up a few of my mini flash games I’ve been creating to help me learn.
So I’m hoping to pick up a copy of EA’s Mirror Edge tomorrow, if you don’t already know it’s a very unique game which has definitely caught my attention (Yes I know, over Gears of War2 and Farcry2 both I have yet to purchase). You basically play the role of a delivery agent, who’s actually a free runner. You barely use any traditional weapons at all, and instead it’s all to do with fast paced, roof top jumping, pole sliding, bullet dodging crazy ass free running! Sounds awesome I know! Anyway, I’m sure I’ll post my thoughts on this after I’ve had the chance to give it a proper go
